A Message from Our Executive Director

Happy New Year City Ministries Community,

A new year has begun filled with anticipation and excitement for City Ministries! We are looking forward to serving more children and families through our foster care program and City Kids School (preschool – K). The first part of the year is filled with optimism, new year resolutions, and new beginnings and we hope you believe for wonderful things this year.

Following are some community updates:

Our offices remain in Kirkland, the same location, however a different church is leasing the building called The Pursuit Kirkland. We are closely aligned in our passion for foster care, families, and education which is exciting. We will continue our partnerships with other churches including Churchome.

We are actively recruiting foster parents; the need is still great in Washington State. Opportunities to help families range from visitation supervision, to respite care (48-hour period), to full-time fostering. The foster parent licensing process can take from 90 days to 6-months depending on the pace of the family involved. City Ministries is committed to making the process as smooth as possible. We invite you to volunteer, do an internship along with your academic pursuits, or help with one-time projects.

We are in the planning stages of our 3rd Annual Fundraiser and Social on May 16, 2024, 6PM during Foster Care Awareness Month, so save the date! One of our goals is to inspire 100 people to become monthly reoccurring givers at $25 each month for a total of $300/year. You do not have to wait until May to participate. Please sign up now and begin to give.

Thank you for your continued support, prayers, and goodwill toward City Ministries. Check back here each month for updates on our activities by signing up for our newsletter.

Let us have an amazing first quarter of 2024 together.

Blessings,

Cheryl Haskins
