VOLUNTEER AT CITY MINISTRIES WITHOUT LEAVING YOUR HOUSE

Are you a creative mind? Social media savvy? A fundraising guru? An expert in the field who loves training others? We need you on our volunteer team!

City Ministries has an incredible team of volunteers currently, as well as in the past who volunteer directly with children in care by leading monthly Children’s Activities, providing visit supervision to children and their biological families, and helping at events for foster families. The support of the volunteers to our foster families and children is immeasurable!

But hands on volunteering that involves working directly with children is not the only way you can make a difference in the lives of children in care. City Ministries has many great volunteer opportunities that don’t require you to leave your home!

-Social Media Support– If you have a creative mind and enjoy creating and posting engaging content on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter this opportunity is perfect for you! One important way to recruit foster families and bring exposure to what’s happening in the world of foster care locally is to build an online presence on social media. By volunteering in this way, you can play a significant part in raising awareness about the need for more foster families and in doing so, help recruit families who will provide a safe and loving home for vulnerable children in our community.

-Host a Fundraiser– As a nonprofit organization what enables us to offer helpful programs and services to our community is the funding that we receive to support these programs. If you have a heart for children in care and you know how to run a good fundraiser whether it’s a social media campaign, e-mail campaign, peer-to-peer fundraising, virtual silent action, or a live-stream event your expertise in this area can make all the difference in the life of a foster family and child in care. With more funds raised, City Ministries can launch new programs, provide additional services, and support families with even more resources than we already are!

-Leading Virtual Trainings or Support Groups– If you are an expert in the field and enjoy supporting foster families in their fostering journey one of the easiest ways you can do this is by hosting a virtual training or support group. Providing a safe space for foster families to share the joys and challenges of fostering will empower them to continue providing the best care possible for the children in their home.

If you have a heart for children in care and are interested in volunteering in one of these roles, please e-mail us at [email protected]. We would love to have you join our volunteer team!
