Dr. Cheryl takes us back to 2009, reflecting on the many new foster families who joined City Ministries – some of whom are still licensed and serving today! She emphasizes how it truly takes an entire community to make foster care successful.

Up until 2012, City Ministries also ran a Women in Transition Home. Dr. Cheryl shares the story of this program and why it came to a close.

During this time, she navigated the loss of both Pastor Wendell and her husband. Even amidst grief- faith, family, and the support of the church community brought strength and hope. These years were also marked by blessings through partnerships with local churches, and City Ministries looks forward to building more church partnerships in the future because it truly takes the whole community to care for the needs in the community.
