A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Happy May Day! Please join us in celebrating National Foster Care Awareness Month! City Ministries began our foster care journey in September of 2007 when we broke ground on twenty-two homes in hopes that eventually all of them would be filled with families caring for children in out-of-home placements. In 2008 we began the process of starting up a private foster care agency and getting licensed through the state. Our first families moved into the homes in Fall 2008, and we received our first children in Spring 2009.

We are very thankful for the families past and present who serve the community by being foster parents and we have worked with over the years. These people are true heroes. I encourage you to reach out to those whom you know that provide care for children and bless them during this month with a kind word, social media shout out a gift card for a meal, a phone call or however you see fit.

The pandemic financially impacted our program, but we were able to maintain our staff and foster parents through the crisis. We are focusing this month on raising funds to support this program financially and would ask you to prayerfully consider making a one-time or recurring donation. City Ministries has a history of success and good work and a great place to give financially.

If you have questions or need additional information or wish to be added to our email list, please contact us at [email protected] and follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for frequent updates.

Again, we are so incredibly grateful for all the families that serve our community!

Blessings,

Cheryl Haskins

Executive Director
