BREATHE IN, REST, AND REMEMBER WHY WE PREPARE

During the holiday season we know how easy it is to get caught up in the hustle and bustle! Sometimes we may even need to intentionally create moments that remind us to slow down and to focus on what Christmas is truly all about! At City Kids School one way we do this is by performing our annual “A Night of Christmas”. As we prepare for this special night, we remind the students that this night is a celebration and truly worship to Jesus.

In the weeks leading up to this event, our students practice songs, bible verses, and stories that retell the most special night… when Jesus was born! Our heart behind this evening is so that we can be in community together worshiping Jesus and seeing this season through the beautiful eyes of children. Whether you have heard the story of Jesus being born 1,000 times or if this was your first time hearing it, we believe that God was present in that room and speaking to us all. As our kids worshiped and declared His beauty in front of us, we hope you had time to rest and reflect on Him!

The next time you feel yourself rushing to complete your Christmas to-do lists and moving quickly from school to shopping, to wrapping, to holiday dinner parties … we hope you can take a moment to breathe in, rest, and to remember why we are doing all of the preparation in the first place. Our hope is after our “A Night of Christmas” you now have a refreshed perspective on the season. We feel so blessed that we are able to celebrate this special holiday in community together! And we are so very grateful to remember Jesus, and the night our lives were changed forever, the night when Jesus was born!
